The students in this project build an algorithm, which takes letters images as input and outputs partitioning of the images to “real” parts, that can be designed/printed offline. Then, these “real” parts will be assembled and configured into an environment with a light source, which induces the “shadow” parts of the “real” parts. By the combination of the “real” and the “shadow” parts, we can the input letter.
